Our 1st Tent Adventure

In early September we took our first family trip in the tent at Doheny State Beach.  The first night was tough, but I think the kids got so worn out as the trip went on, that they slept better and better each night.  We had a group of 4 campsites so the kids had a great time running between them all!

We checked in on Monday afternoon and the weather was very hot and muggy.  We woke up on Tuesday, excited to spend the day at the beach, but the weather was not what we were expecting.  It was overcast, cold, and drizzly.  We toughed it out at the beach for awhile anyways, but we were all cold and wet almost immediately.  We let the kids run around camp and the boys took a trip to sport chalet to rent some paddle boards.

Wednesday, our weather was much nicer.  We spent time at the beach, went paddle boarding, boogie boarding, BBQed lunch and the boys went fishing.  We even had a nice campfire once it got dark.

Thursday we had to pack up and go home, but we got a little beach time in first.  We had a great time and are hoping to make this an annual trip!

My Little Chef

Seth is always wanting to help me, whether it’s in the kitchen, getting ready, mopping the floors, laundry, etc.  He just wants to help.  So when pizza was on the menu for dinner this week, it seemed like the perfect time to let him get his hands dirty.  We washed our hands and got right to work!

We started with the sauce

The we were ready to put it in the oven and set the timer.

So much fun, since that day, Seth wants to help me prepare every meal.  It’s so nice to have a little helper.  I’m going to need to get him an apron Winking smile

That’s right, you read my title correctly.  Miss Natalie is already one!  I am amazed at this little girl every day!  She has so much spunk for such a little person.  She is a hard core mama’s girl, and LOVES her big brother!  For her actual birthday, we went swim

8 months

DSC_3007

Natalie is another month older, yet again.  This month she has mastered the army crawl and has gotten her 4 top teeth.  She took teething like a champ this time around.  She is getting so close to crawling that it isn’t even funny.  What am I going to do with two kids going in separate directions?  Someone hold me!

Snow Day

On the evening of February 27th, we started to get a light dusting of snow.  We kept our fingers crossed that it would stick around longer than an hour.  It snowed pretty heavily, and by the time we went to bed around 10 o’clock we had 7 inches of snow!!!

When we woke up, everything was covered!!  We got everyone all bundled up and headed outside to brave the cold and play.

Cindy and Zach even came up on their way to work and school.

Everyone was so excited to hear that the snow stuck around, so we had a pretty big group here for dinner.  Everyone came up to play.  We even built a pretty big snowman!

We were starting think that we weren’t going to get a whole lot of snow this year.  Shame on us for giving up hope so soon Smile
