San Francisco

For my 28th Birthday, we decided to take a few days and take a small family vacation.  We took advantage of the Southwest sale and were able to get round-trip tickets for less than $60 each.

We stayed at the Parc55 hotel in Union Square.  We absolutely loved our room.  When we checked in, the lady at the registration desk thought we might like more room, since we had the little guy so we were upgraded to a corner suite.  We had amazing views.  The location of our hotel was great too.  We were close to all public transportation and within walking distance to lots of great shopping and restaurants.

We were lucky enough to be able to meet up with some of Stephen’s family that lives in the area.  We met for lunch at Bubba Gump’s and walked through Fisherman’s Wharf, all the way to Ghiradelli Square where we had some delicious ice cream.

For my birthday, we had a great breakfast, then headed to Alcatraz.  We took the audio tour and really enjoyed walking around the island.  The sun was out, but the wind still made for a chilly day.  After Alcatraz, we got a sourdough bread bowl of clam chowder and headed back to the hotel for a nap.  For dinner we ate on the patio at Cheesecake Factory on the top of Macy’s.  I had a great day with my boys.

Friday we had to head home.  We found a diner, had breakfast and got all packed and ready to go.  We took the BART to the airport, checked our bag, then found out that our flight had been delayed.  It was a loooong day in the airport, but we finally made it home.
